We’re officially in to Week 2 of 2017, but we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to 2016 just yet and are taking one final chance to reminisce about our “Year in Food” in 2016. In looking back at some of our best bites (and sips) across Miami this past year we’re adding in a few more opinions this time around, with some favorites from our new contributing writers as well. 2016 was a great year of growth for us here at MMTM Headquarters and we couldn’t have done it without them. We’re excited to let you get to know them even better in the year to come. And, of course, we couldn’t do any of this without you… Thanks, as always, for following along on our foodie adventures.

Every now and then we get invited to foodie events that are amazing reminders of why we love our Miami foodie community. Uvaggio’s Somm Slamm was exactly that; a one-of-a-kind experience dreamt up by the wine bar’s co-founders Heath Porter and Craig DeWald that offers guests a fun-filled night of gourmet foods, gracious company and unique wines.
It’s August and that means one thing… It’s Miami Spice Season!!! While we’re all chomping at the bit to take advantage of the annual prix fixe celebration at our favorite area restaurants, we’re also aware that there’s much more that our city has to offer during these dog days of summer. Below is a collection of some of those non-Miami Spice foodie activities, offers, and events that may just pry some of your attention away from Miami Spice for a day or two. Enjoy!
I’ve been a fan of Uvaggio since it first opened on Miracle Mile about a year ago. I love the small feel, the bright and warm ambience, the live music trickling in from the sidewalk, and the extensive and interesting wine list. That said, I’ve only really visited a handful of times and those visits have usually been on the shorter side; more drinks with friends or night caps than a full dining experience.
This past week we had the pleasure of attending VeritageMiami’s Craft Beer and Fine Wine Tastings. The annual event brings together a who’s who of more than 3,000 wine, beer, spirits and food lovers from all across South Florida along with top sommeliers, notable chefs, prestigious wineries, winemakers and breweries and an impressive lineup of auction lots all to benefit the South Florida community via United Way of Miami-Dade, which supports programs in our community that are focused on improving the education, financial stability and health of our residents. Here’s a quick recap of our food and drink filled adventures…
It’s the end of the month and we’re continuing our Foodie Friends series that kicked-off last month by highlighting another Miami foodie that we simply adore. Her name is Cassie Glenn, and she’s the driving force behind Yelp Miami. She’s a Colorado transplant that made her way to Miami for college and once done, decided to stick around our sunny neck of the woods.
