Brunch Bonanza at Bird & Bone

Do you guys remember that time that Mitch told you all about dinner at Bird & Bone? The restaurant, a self-proclaimed contemporary countryside farmhouse, offers soulful Southern cuisine through locally sourced ingredients from independent farms and organic butchers (so you feel a bit less guilty about the indulgent meal). Mitch might have told you all about the dinner, but on a rather steamy Sunday morning, I ventured to Bird & Bone’s home at The Confidante (4041 Collins Ave, Miami Beach) for brunch and was equally as impressed by the quality of the menu.

A New Taste of Talde

Early last year, Mel raved about her experience at Talde Miami Beach (4041 Collins Ave, Miami Beach), praising the restaurant’s wide variety of Asian-American dishes served up in an eclectic, Brooklyn-esque environment, as a “progressive fusion of Asian and American dishes that took [her] out of [her] comfort zone.” Now, about a year and a half later, I had the opportunity to get my own taste of  Talde, which recently launched a new menu featuring a heavier focus on classic Chinese-driven dishes, of course with the Dale Talde spin we’ve all become accustomed to. Despite the changes to the menu, I’m here to tell you that Mel’s take still rings true.

Foodie Friday – Local Edition

We finally made it to December and the holidays are upon us! It certainly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially for us foodies. The Thanksgiving appetizer is behind us and we’re ready to dig into the main course with Art Basel and Miami Art Week hitting their stride this weekend. And, we can’t forget the extreme amounts of lechón that will be entering our lives come Christmas and New Year’s (with a side of Hanukkah potato latkes for Mitch). Seagrape’s Summer Tasting Series Won’t Kill Your Beach Bod

When Seagrape recently launched its new Summer Tasting Series, you could almost hear the collective gasp emanate up and down South Beach. That’s right, they launched a Miami Spice-esque prix fixe menu in the MIDDLE OF BIKINI SEASON!!! The gall. But, guess what? While still offering up bold and delicious flavors, the dishes are totally doable if you’re trying to eat healthy and keep that beach bod in tact. If you order the Seagrape Burger, that’s on you.
