Foodie Friday – Local Edition

We finally made it to December and the holidays are upon us! It certainly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially for us foodies. The Thanksgiving appetizer is behind us and we’re ready to dig into the main course with Art Basel and Miami Art Week hitting their stride this weekend. And, we can’t forget the extreme amounts of lechón that will be entering our lives come Christmas and New Year’s (with a side of Hanukkah potato latkes for Mitch). As if that wasn’t enough, there’s still plenty to see and do, eat and drink this December in the Magic City.  Below is our monthly round-up of what the month ahead has in store for us here in Miami. Miami Tastemaker – Adam Garfield

Born and raised in Miami, Adam is a University of Florida alum that moved to Boston for work in the corporate finance sector. Frustrated with poor customer service at bars and restaurants, Adam and his co-founder, Ed Gilmore, set out to build SpeedETab in late 2013. As CEO, Adam oversees and directs the overall management and strategic responsibility for the company as well as operational, staffing, and fundraising efforts. ​

#FoodieFriends – Nick Pena

We’ve only actually met Nick Pena once, although it feels like we’ve been friends for a while. That’s because Nick (aka Nick on the Radio) has been gracing our airwaves for years as part of the Mack with Nina and Nick show on Y-100. Then, when we got into the food blogging game, we started to see Nick around a lot of the same events we were attending. That’s because Nick has a second alias – Nick the Food-e. Needless to say, the guy’s got a lot going on, so it was very nice of him to make some time out of his busy schedule to meet with Mitch at The Rum Line for this month’s edition of #FoodieFriends.

#FoodieFriends – RandoMiami

In our fourth installment of Foodie Friends, we’re highlighting one of our favorite food blogs, RandoMiami and the fun, charismatic gal behind the blog, Katy Coffield. We’ll preface her Q&A by stating that this 25-year-old knows how to have a good time and keep you well entertained. When we caught up with Katy earlier this week, we laughed, we drank, we ate, and then we laughed some more. We enjoyed drinks at Ball and Chain, and after having cocktails as appetizers, we somehow justified making our way to dinner at the ice cream mecca Azúcar where we all indulged in some Abuela Maria.
