Foodie friends, can you believe we’re already 25% in to 2017??? The first few months of the year are always a whirlwind around here with food festivals and restaurant openings, and a ton of special foodie events. While not letting up completely, things are starting to slow down a little bit as we start to approach the summer months and we’re happy to bet getting a little bit of a reprieve. That said, there’s still plenty to see and do, eat and drink this month. Below is our regular round-up of the best of the Miami food scene this month. Enjoy!

Lolo’s Surf Cantina is a restaurant located South of Fifth (161 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach) spearheaded by chef/partner Richard Ampudia who has been nicknamed “the Godfather of Mexican Street Food.” Neatly tucked away on the corner of the newly renovated Stanton South Beach, Lolo’s Surf Cantina serves Mexican food with family-style plates and a gastropub feel.

Olla Miami (South Beach 1233 Lincoln Road), a new Mexican joint started by Scott Linquist, the mastermind behind the incredibly popular Coyo Taco in Wynwood and Brickell is open for business. The restaurant gets its name from clay pots used to serve family style dishes. Yes, similar to the ollas Abuela and Mami still use to cook.
We’re officially in to Week 2 of 2017, but we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to 2016 just yet and are taking one final chance to reminisce about our “Year in Food” in 2016. In looking back at some of our best bites (and sips) across Miami this past year we’re adding in a few more opinions this time around, with some favorites from our new contributing writers as well. 2016 was a great year of growth for us here at MMTM Headquarters and we couldn’t have done it without them. We’re excited to let you get to know them even better in the year to come. And, of course, we couldn’t do any of this without you… Thanks, as always, for following along on our foodie adventures.
We finally made it to December and the holidays are upon us! It certainly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially for us foodies. The Thanksgiving appetizer is behind us and we’re ready to dig into the main course with Art Basel and Miami Art Week hitting their stride this weekend. And, we can’t forget the extreme amounts of lechón that will be entering our lives come Christmas and New Year’s (with a side of Hanukkah potato latkes for Mitch). As if that wasn’t enough, there’s still plenty to see and do, eat and drink this December in the Magic City. Below is our monthly round-up of what the month ahead has in store for us here in Miami. Enjoy!
Guys, it’s November! We can hardly believe that we’re fully in the throes of #HalloThanksMas, but such is life. This is a pretty intense month for us at MMTM Headquarters with Mel furiously prepping for The Latin GRAMMYs show in Las Vegas on November 17th and Mitch recovering from his brother’s wedding last weekend and heading out on the road for a few work trips as well. While we may not be around much, there’s actually so much taking place that we’ve separated out a special Thanksgiving round-up that we’ll have for you next Wednesday. In the meantime, here’s our round-up some of the best foodie events taking place this month. Enjoy!
