Miami Spice Monday – Villa Azur

One of the (many) reasons I love the Miami Spice program is that it gives Miami foodies permission to step out of their comfort zones and experience restaurants that they might not visit on a regular basis. Once you break down the wall of price obstacles, suddenly other taboos fall by the wayside as well. Such is the case with my recent trip to Villa Azur (309 23rd St, Miami Beach). The chic French-Mediterranean restaurant and lounge is a place where people go to see and be seen, and that, in general, is not my regular scene. However, emboldened by my new Spice season sensibilities, I decided to give Villa Azur a shot, even if only for the people-watching.

Shuck It On Down to Izzy’s Fish & Oyster

If you’re a local, and reside on the mainland, chances are you may not frequent South Beach as often as you’d like. (Or, am I just an old lady who just doesn’t get out there as often as I should?) In any case, my latest #MMTM assignment forced me to cross the bridge and boy was it worth it…I fell in love. Her name’s Izzy. Izzy’s Fish & Oyster to be exact. After Mitch’s first visit for brunch after their grand opening, it was my turn to visit to see what was going on a year later.
