Congratulations foodies, just like that you’ve made it through another work week! Do you have anything fun planned this weekend? We continue to explore our city to offer you the best of restaurants and culinary experiences to enjoy this summer. Although it’s miserably hot these days, we’re trying to stay cool with cold drinks, lots of paletas, and the occasional frozen cocktail (or mocktail for Mel since she’s cooking a little foodie in her belly). We hope you’re doing the same! In the meantime, we leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web. Enjoy!
Hey foodies! We’ve made it to mid-July. How exactly did that happen? Most South Floridians are just trying to stay cool in these miserably hot, humid days of summer, and we’re just trying to hide inside an air-conditioned restaurant and sip on some kind of frozen concoction. We hope your year thus far has been amazing and that the rest of summer is even better. Since this marks the official half way point of summer, can we start dreaming of fall and cooler days? We’ll continue to enjoy Miami’s heat and document some of our favorite restaurants in hopes that you can take some time off to check them out. In the meantime, we leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web! Enjoy!
Hey foodies – who is ready for the long weekend? We sure are! If it feels like we’re in dead of summer, it’s probably because we are. We’re getting a bit more accustomed to the unbearable heat and humidity that tourists can’t handle and slowly but surely enjoying all things that summer has to offer in South Florida. Of course that means that this weekend we will also be indulging in all Fourth of July food bonanza. That means hot dogs, burgers, beers and cocktails. Our hope is that you watch a kick-ass fireworks show and get to munch on some of your favorite summer food. Happy Fourth of July and we leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web!
It’s that time of year when the sweltering summer begins to die down only to welcome weirdly named hurricanes to our neck of the woods. Miami is no doubt a very special place to harbor extreme weather. We usually like to retreat to the comfort of a restaurant and eat our worries away. Not sure which establishment will be the chosen one this weekend, but with Hermine looming in, we’ll be sure to indulge in a culinary feast somewhere cozy. Do you have any plans for this stormy weekend? We hope you take full advantage of a weekend with little expectations and eat to your heart’s desire. In the meantime, we leave you with this week’s fun foodie link pack to kick things off! Enjoy!
On this month’s edition of #FoodieFriends, we’re highlighting one of our favorite Miami influencers, Marvin Tapia also known as Mr. Miami Marvin. Marvin has aptly become Mr. Miami for very good reason, he’s consistently well informed on all things sunny and bright in Miami, documenting the latest trends in food, music and culture. Apart from his cool demeanor, Marvin is indicative of “curiosity meets cool.” He documents his adventures across our city on both his Twitter and Instagram accounts for our viewing pleasure. Marvin is the equivalent of a real-time feed of Miami’s most happening events, always in the know of the best restaurant openings, specials and of course hidden gems.
We’ve never really understood the big bonanza around Black Friday. We already own TVs, so this holiday (unlike yesterday’s) makes little sense to us. That said, if you’re going out to brave the slightly ridiculous crowds, we suggest you take lots of food breaks to keep your fuel high!
We couldn’t have wished for a better Thanksgiving yesterday surround by friends and family – all who are in good health. Our sincere wish is that you can say the same and as the Holiday season kicks into full gear, we can’t help but be thankful for our readers (you!) who make this hobby of ours a huge blessing. Thank you!
We leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web to read whilst waiting in the shopping lines! Enjoy!
