Do you guys remember that time that Mitch told you all about dinner at Bird & Bone? The restaurant, a self-proclaimed contemporary countryside farmhouse, offers soulful Southern cuisine through locally sourced ingredients from independent farms and organic butchers (so you feel a bit less guilty about the indulgent meal). Mitch might have told you all about the dinner, but on a rather steamy Sunday morning, I ventured to Bird & Bone’s home at The Confidante (4041 Collins Ave, Miami Beach) for brunch and was equally as impressed by the quality of the menu.
Happy August, foodies! The dog days of summer are officially here, and so is Miami Spice! For the next two months, we’ll all be enjoying prix fixe meals all over town (now including brunch), and specifically here at MMTM Headquarters we’ll be giving you our “takes” on the best menus in the return of our #MiamiSpiceMonday series. But, just because Miami Spice is here, that doesn’t mean there aren’t other great foodie happenings taking place in South Florida. Check out the below for all the new openings, special offerings, and more in our monthly Foodie Friday – Local Edition round-up. Enjoy!

At The Confidante Miami Beach, Bird & Bone (4041 Collins Ave, Miami Beach) is the latest brainchild from Chef Richard Hales (of Sakaya Kitchen and Blackbrick fame). Designed to highlight the best of the American culinary landscape, the menu reflects the heart and soul of traditional country cuisine with locally-sourced ingredients from independent small farms and organic butchers that illuminate Chef Hales’ passion for Southern dining.
We finally made it to December and the holidays are upon us! It certainly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially for us foodies. The Thanksgiving appetizer is behind us and we’re ready to dig into the main course with Art Basel and Miami Art Week hitting their stride this weekend. And, we can’t forget the extreme amounts of lechón that will be entering our lives come Christmas and New Year’s (with a side of Hanukkah potato latkes for Mitch). As if that wasn’t enough, there’s still plenty to see and do, eat and drink this December in the Magic City. Below is our monthly round-up of what the month ahead has in store for us here in Miami. Enjoy!
