Rusty Bucket (3535 Northwest 83 Avenue, Doral) is a casual tavern chain with a sports bar atmosphere, serving comfort food favorites and a long beer list. One of the first places to pop up at City Place Doral, Rusty Bucket is a long-time staple in Ohio that has now made its way to South Florida.
Wynwood is now ubiquitous with coffee shops, restaurant and hipsters. It has become the destination for urban art and sidewalk poetry. Few things surprise us in the neighborhood that brought eccentricity and culture to our beloved city, so when we ventured to BrickHouse we expected another dive bar, with okay drinks and a bar menu that we thought would leave a lot to desire. But that’s what we love about this neighborhood, it continually proves us wrong. So when we tried a myriad of drinks that were both innovative and flavorful we were impressed, but it was the food at this self-proclaimed “Drinking Den” that knocked it out of the park.
Per the Dictionary a vagabond is basically a waste of space.
a person who wanders from place to place without a home or job
Well, this time, Mr. Smarty Pants (yeah, I’m talking to you Dictionary) is dead wrong. This vagabond – Vagabond Restaurant and Bar, that is – is no lost soul; it’s a serious, feet-firmly-planted, must-visit foodie destination. Ain’t nobody wandering around here.
On this edition of Foodie Friday, we welcome the month of March. It’s the time of year when Spring Breakers flock to our city in search of sun or Ultra (one is bound to be the target.) While the rest of the country starts to look forward to warmer days, we pretty much look forward to March 17, when we can justify another eating and drinking holiday. While we aptly prepare for the celebrations to come, we leave you with our Friday link pack from around the web to kick-start the month with food on your mind. Enjoy!
Over our first few months of blogging, we’ve introduced you to Miami Tastemakers and secured you exclusive reservations at the Chef’s Corner. Today, we kick off a new series that takes you Behind the Bar with some of our city’s best bartenders. Just as our city’s culinary scene has grown more diverse over the past few years, so has the cocktail culture. No longer solely a hotbed for overpriced, oversized, and downright nasty drinks (I’m looking at you, Ocean Drive), the Magic City now boasts a plethora of fine drinking establishments from the sophisticated cocktail club, to the craft beer hangout, to the hipster wine spot, to the underground dive bar. So, step up and pick your poison #MMTM readers… Cheers!
Last week MMTM was invited to an intimate Flor de Caña rum tasting and food pairing in the cool and understated SoFi bar, Radio. What started off as a pop-up bar in early 2013 has transformed into a local favorite, beaming with craft cocktails and laid-back ambiance. With dim lighting, home décor, and a pool table to keep a friendly game going, Radio has become one of Miami’s hidden libation gems.
