Foodie friends, can you believe we’re already 25% in to 2017??? The first few months of the year are always a whirlwind around here with food festivals and restaurant openings, and a ton of special foodie events. While not letting up completely, things are starting to slow down a little bit as we start to approach the summer months and we’re happy to bet getting a little bit of a reprieve. That said, there’s still plenty to see and do, eat and drink this month. Below is our regular round-up of the best of the Miami food scene this month. Enjoy!

Despite the fact that the South Beach Wine & Food Festival has been held in Miami for 16 years now, it hasn’t always represented the local chefs, restaurants, and flavors that our city has to offer. In recent years, however, we’ve noticed a shift towards the highlighting of more of the best and brightest of the South Florida foodie community. Never has that been more evident than this year’s Festival. Instead of events being all about Food Network stars, most events are now fronted by our local culinarians with the celebrity chefs playing the role of supporting players. And, you know what? It’s a beautiful thing.
Add to that the expansion to more neighborhoods and communities off of South Beach and the growing number of “unofficial” ancillary events, and it seems that SOBEWFF has officially gone local. With so much ground to cover this year, here at MMTM Headquarters we also felt the need to activate part of our own local team of foodies to help us cover multiple aspects of the weekend’s activities. The below is a team-effort recap of our 2017 SOBEWFF experiences. We hope you enjoy our take on the 2017 South Beach Wine & Food Festival!
Well, that was certainly an exciting first week of October! Luckily, we missed any major issues with Hurricane Matthew down here in Miami, and now we’re ready to look forward to the remainder of the month and all the fun, exciting, and delicious foodie happenings that it has in store for us. Below is our monthly round-up of what October is bringing – from Oktoberfest to Halloween and everything in between. Enjoy!

I tend to have a nostalgic gravitational pull towards all speakeasy bars. I’m not sure if it’s the allure of finding the hidden gems or maybe the thrill of the concept’s origin during prohibition that appeals to me. In either case, the team behind Coconut Grove’s widely popular Ariete, have a new hit on their hands with Baby Jane, which stands in the midst of the growing Brickell landscape.
