PB Burger is Back to Benefit the Blended Burger Project

For a second year in a row, Pubbelly Noodle Bar (1418 20th St, Miami Beach) has partnered with The James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project to raise awareness for and benefit the project’s mission of healthy and sustainable cooking. This year the series will feature an all-female chef lineup of guest chefs serving up their Summer Burgers from June 5th (today) through August 3rd. Guest chefs include: Susan Ungaro, President of The James Beard Foundation, Roxanne Vargas of NBC 6-in-the-Mix, Alejandra Cangas of The Hungry Post, Chef Lorena Garcia, Chef Michelle Bernstein, Chef Ingrid Hoffman, Chef Dena Marino, Chef Janine Booth, and Laine Doss* of the Miami New Times.

Menu highlights: The burger line-up this year is pretty stellar; it’s girl power at its best. There’s something for every palate, whether it’s a traditional, all-American burger or innovative options that include lamb. Everyone will find something to suit their summer burger cravings, even those cold souls that don’t love burgers will find solace in at least one of the selections. Below, we share a round-up of this year’s burgers and the dates they’ll be available so you can start day dreaming about and planning for your favorite!

June 7th: The James Beard Burger

June 28th: The Roxy Patty

Smoked gouda cheese, caramelized onions, bacon jam, roasted aioli sauce spread on rye

July 12th: The Bolognese Burger
Chef Dena Marino, MC Kitchen

July 19th: The Chica Burger
Chef Lorena Garcia, Celebrity Chef & Chica Restaurant Las Vegas
Mushroom sweet ají burger with short rib and mushroom sweet chili sofrito

July 26th: The Curry Root & Bone Lamb Burger
Chef Janine Booth, Root & Bone NYC and The Sarsaparilla Club
Grilled Indian madras curry lamb burger with mango chutney, raita, & pickled fresnos

Standout burger: By a long shot, the favorite burger of the night was Michelle Bernstein’s delectable creation. Available on July 5th, The Dolce Vita Burger comes with Gorgonzola Dolce with onion rings, watercress, and balsamic vinaigrette.

Are we boozing? Pubbelly offers a wide variety of wines, beers, and cocktails, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. But, you might also want to go all-out and order a chocolate mint milkshake because… why the hell not?

Mitch & Mel’s take: If we could, we’d combine forces to give burgers their own food group. There’s something pretty unforgettable about the first bite of a juicy burger with a crispy bun and oozing cheese. This collaboration makes you want to live in a summer that never ends so you can consume an unfathomable amount of burgers and milkshakes. *Note: we were unable to taste (or photograph) Laine’s burger collaboration for August 2nd, but it’s called the From Philly With Love Burger and comes with a ribeye steak/mushroom blend, piquant Provolone cheese, onions, and peppers on hoagie bread.
