Around #MMTM Headquarters we’re celebrating all things fall. We’ve made it through another work week and we’re expecting our very first cold front this weekend – after what seemed like an extra-long, muggy summer. We’re so excited about the drop in temperature, the pumpkin patches, and the outdoor dining that await in the months to follow (we just love everything about this time of year). While we dream about the perfect weather that’s to come and take out our boots and sweaters, we leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web to kick-start your foodie weekend plans. Enjoy!

Sunday Funday has officially taken on a new meaning. In fact, every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. should be deemed “Sunday BrunchDay” in recognition of “The Nikki Beach World Famous Amazing Sunday Brunch.” For $49.95, this world-famous phenomenon offers all you can eat (literally) and more!

If you’re a local, and reside on the mainland, chances are you may not frequent South Beach as often as you’d like. (Or, am I just an old lady who just doesn’t get out there as often as I should?) In any case, my latest #MMTM assignment forced me to cross the bridge and boy was it worth it…I fell in love. Her name’s Izzy. Izzy’s Fish & Oyster to be exact. After Mitch’s first visit for brunch after their grand opening, it was my turn to visit to see what was going on a year later.
Congratulations foodies! You’ve not only made it through another work week but are also halfway through the month of October (one of our favorites!) and the weather has greeted you with a light breeze and a significant drop in humidity. How lucky are we? It’s the perfect time of year to transition from indoor eating to those beautiful outdoor spots that we dread during summers in Miami. We’ve already snuck in some outdoor dining and think you should find an excuse to do the same this weekend. In the interim, we leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web!

Most out-of-towners tend to have one general thought about Miami: it’s so sexy. Well, they’re probably right. Everything in our city tends to be on the risqué and slightly cooler side. As so, a sexy steakhouse is a must for us locals and that’s exactly what STK has established in Miami (should also be noted the sexiness spills over to its many locations across the world). STK is an ultrachic, modern steakhouse that offers a sophisticated menu that will not disappoint your taste buds. More than just a culinary experience, you can also expect a cool ambience, an in-house DJ (*during pre-determined hours) and modern, fun décor.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Peruvian cuisine is the star of the Latin food world. Widely varied and nuanced, it pulls influence from numerous cultures (Inca, African, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and more) and regional cooking styles (Andean, Caribbean, Coastal Pacific, Amazonean). Unlike other one note (albeit delicious) Latin cuisines, Peruvian food offers layers upon layers of flavor technique that continue to surprise me the more I experience them. Luckily for me, and for all of us, those experiences are happening more and more often. Here in Miami, in addition to many other cities around the world, Peruvian restaurants continue to pop up on the dining scene, with each one offering up delicacies just different enough from the last.
Well, that was certainly an exciting first week of October! Luckily, we missed any major issues with Hurricane Matthew down here in Miami, and now we’re ready to look forward to the remainder of the month and all the fun, exciting, and delicious foodie happenings that it has in store for us. Below is our monthly round-up of what October is bringing – from Oktoberfest to Halloween and everything in between. Enjoy!

Once upon a time, we fell head over heels for Pinch. We told you all about our wonderful dinner at the quaint little restaurant a few months ago, about how much we loved its charm and its effortless menu full of creativity and innovation. So when we heard that the critically-acclaimed, yet cozy spot was starting to serve brunch, Mitch and I flocked to the restaurant to gluttonously indulge in what we knew would be a fantastic meal.
Hi foodie friends, it’s officially Fri-Yay and the last one for September. Can you believe it will officially be October tomorrow? (Mel’s birthday month!) We also officially wrapped up another season of our #MiamiSpiceMonday series earlier this week and we say au revoir to the culinary program that we love so much. However, the end of Miami Spice also means the beginning of busy season for restaurants, and you can rest assured that we will be covering it all for you. We hope your October gets off to an amazing start this weekend, and leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web. Enjoy!
Pubbelly. The name alone evokes feelings of a well-established brand that has been a forerunner of the Miami culinary scene since 2010. We’re all familiar with the original location on Sunset Harbour, but now the Pubbelly name has begun to expand into bigger horizons. One of the brand’s newest ventures is one aboard a cruise ship; the Norwegian Escape to be exact.
