For those of you who know me personally, by now you know that I’m a major Hispanophile (read: I have an obsession with Spain). I lived and studied in Spain and, if I’m being honest, I would move back in a heartbeat (well, maybe I’ll wait for the economy to turn back around). However, until I’m able to make my way back to the madre patria, I’m always on the lookout for new Spanish restaurants and experiences and recently found one: Personal Tapas Cooking Classes!
It’s the day of love, and this Foodie Friday is dedicated to all things Valentine’s. It’s a day of glory for American consumerism…and love.
At MMTM, we like to hibernate at home with our significant others, as we’re a tad bit hesitant of the long waits and pre-fix menus. That said, our cynicism allows for it all: cheesy Valentine’s Day cards, the L-word and the infestation of all things red and pink. We’re also lucky enough to spend this day with people we truly love and can’t imagine life without (moment of mushiness.) So here’s to champagne, cheese and lots of chocolate!
I embarked on the Miami Brew Bus tour on a Sunday Funday with boyfriend in tow and high expectations. The absolutely perfect 70-degree weather gave us false hopes that we were invincible and that a full day’s consumption of beer would somehow be justified. Needless to say, we drank too much beer (responsibly, of course) and were right in thinking our day of playing tourists in Miami would be a total hit.

A while back, we shared with you guys the amazing experience we had at Sushi Samba Coral Gables. With a glowing review, we decided to further explore the magic behind the kitchen and have a Q & A with Chef David Sears, who’s leading all culinary efforts at the new Coral Gables hotspot. Sears may be the new head honcho in charge, but he’s no newbie to the culinary world. He’s an established chef who’s led the team at Temple Orange at the Ritz Carlton Palm Beach as Chef de Cuisine and was crowned winner of the reality TV chef series, Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell on the Food Network; all this among a series of other well-deserved accolades under his belt.
Since I first heard about the Cochon 555 event a few years ago, I’d dreamt of the day that I would have the opportunity to sample the succulent swine selections served up by Miami’s best chefs. Well, last night my dream became a reality as I checked another item off of my foodie bucket list. The Kosher kids might not agree, but this Jewish boy was most definitely in hog heaven.
