Meet local chefs John Gallo & Rene Reyes

Just a pinch of salt. A pinch of spice. A pinch of pepper.

These phrases are commonplace in almost any kitchen.

They also happen to be the inspiration for Chefs John Gallo and Rene Reyes’s Pinch Kitchen concept in Miami’s Upper East Side neighborhood which launched in 2015.

Both chefs tout impressive culinary resumes.

Gallo began his career at Casa Tua in Miami Beach while studying at Johnson & Wales University in Miami. Reyes worked at the La Goulue French Brasserie at the Bal Harbour Shoppes before landing a job at Casa Tua where he met Gallo. Both worked up the ranks to Chef de Partie. And as their talents grew, so did their ambitions.

Within a few years, the duo laid plans to officially go out on their own and launch the now award-winning Pinch Kitchen.

Pinch’s brunch menu features a variety of American-style breakfast classics like Eggs Benedict, Steak N’ Eggs, Cand Chicken and Waffles. The lunch menu features a collection of specialty burgers and sandwiches. Dinner entrees include steak, seafood and chicken. Entree prices range between $21-$24 at the time of this writing.
