She’s hot, steamy and going around town…serving delicious, cheesy creations. Ms. Cheezious is one of the many food trucks that have taken over the Miami Food Truck scene in the last few years. A little sexier and more risqué than your other cheesy food truck selections, this Ms. offers a variety of bold flavors in unexpected combinations that leave you wanting more.
For those of you who know me personally, by now you know that I’m a major Hispanophile (read: I have an obsession with Spain). I lived and studied in Spain and, if I’m being honest, I would move back in a heartbeat (well, maybe I’ll wait for the economy to turn back around). However, until I’m able to make my way back to the madre patria, I’m always on the lookout for new Spanish restaurants and experiences and recently found one: Personal Tapas Cooking Classes!
I embarked on the Miami Brew Bus tour on a Sunday Funday with boyfriend in tow and high expectations. The absolutely perfect 70-degree weather gave us false hopes that we were invincible and that a full day’s consumption of beer would somehow be justified. Needless to say, we drank too much beer (responsibly, of course) and were right in thinking our day of playing tourists in Miami would be a total hit.
Since I first heard about the Cochon 555 event a few years ago, I’d dreamt of the day that I would have the opportunity to sample the succulent swine selections served up by Miami’s best chefs. Well, last night my dream became a reality as I checked another item off of my foodie bucket list. The Kosher kids might not agree, but this Jewish boy was most definitely in hog heaven.
It seems like only yesterday that Food Trucks were all the rage here in Miami. Anywhere you looked, you couldn’t help but run across these innovatively delicious restaurants-on-wheels, conveniently found on strategic street corners offering gourmet “fast food” options for local foodies and families alike. Nowadays, it seems the fervor has subsided and finding a truck isn’t as easy as it once was. So, what happened?
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner we’ve put together a quick round-up of some of the Magic City’s most romantic spots for you to wine and dine your special someone. Whether you’re looking for a flashy option on South Beach, something more classic in Coral Gables or just a fun night out for the single ladies in Brickell, we’ve got you covered. Read on for a variety of specials, set-menus and other special treats for the occasion.
When was the last time you dined at the ubiquitous bottomless brunch in Miami without having to sacrifice a little something? I’m always petrified (slight exaggeration) to try these all-inclusive meal deals. Whether it’s the location, food selection or quality, it seems that I have to compromise on something if I’m looking for endless mimosas and a top-notch experience. However, fret no more because that’s all changed with Toro Toro. Renowned and award-winning Chef, Richard Sandoval, has aptly brought his signature Latin American cuisine to South Florida in hopes of converting us all to fans and restoring our faith in the hybrid meal consumed on weekends.
I have a confession to make: I know NOTHING about chocolate. I know that I like it and what my preferences are but that’s about it – there’s white, milk and dark and it tastes really freaking good. Is there more? Well, I should actually say that I used to know nothing about chocolate because my recent visit to Cao Chocolates in Kendall changed all of that. I purchased a chocolate tasting on Groupon without really knowing what to expect, really just looking for an excuse to gorge myself on chocolate for an evening. However, to my surprise, what I got was a brief yet informative beginner’s guide to training, led by owner/chocolatier Ricardo Trillos.
Brunch tends to be my favorite meal of the weekend. It’s the combination of breakfast (which houses my favorite food items) thrown in with some mimosas – we all know cocktails make everything better. It’s also the sad realization that Monday is looming and that the workweek is about to begin. The latter usually makes me want to max out the brunch experience and Casabe 305 Bistro had just the fix.
As we mentioned during our first Foodie Friday post, we threw ourselves a little shindig last Friday night to celebrate the official launch of our new blog. We all know that in Miami people find any excuse to throw a party together, right? Our small gathering was a true love fest as we, along with our friends and family, enjoyed a tasting of some fine wines courtesy of Old Vines Wine & Spirits and snacked on some delicious guava cupcakes provided by Sweet Treats by Jacks. Take a look at the gallery below for a few highlights…
