Hi foodies! We hope you had an amazing week, but aren’t you glad it’s all over and you have Friday to celebrate? We sure are. We can’t wait to savor the last few days of summer, which in Miami feel especially nice. We’re dreaming of the day when we finally start to feel a bit of relief with a light breeze and a drop in humidity. And you know what gets us even more excited? Outdoor dinning, of course. While we start piling up the options for Miami’s upcoming perfect “fall” weather, we leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web!

While many restaurants boast a Mediterranean title, most usually focus on one specific area such as Greece, Spain or Italy. Panarea Mediterranean Sea Grill (11052 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami Shores) – named after the second smallest island of the Aeolian chain of volcanic islands in Italy and considered the heart of the Mediterranean – is bucking that trend by offering patrons a true representation of Mediterranean cuisine with dishes from southern Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Israel and northern Africa.

We’re back to regular programming here at MMTM headquarters and hope that you and your loved ones are all safe after Hurricane Irma.
Remember that time we told you all about Fooq’s (1035 N Miami Ave, Miami), the quaint and posh (yet unassuming) little spot in Downtown Miami, and their dinner and brunch offerings? Recently, I headed back to this little spot to check out their Miami Spice menu and I’m here to tell you, you’ll want to pay a visit before the end of the month too.
Hi foodies! We took some time off earlier this week for obvious reasons with Irma making an unwanted appearance in our beloved Miami. We’re slowly, but surely trying to get back into our regular programming and it’s our hope that you too are starting to find some normality in your routines. Most importantly, we hope that your families and your homes were spared from any harm.
Some people like to talk bad about our city, but we like to think that we’re the best in the country. No one is really from Miami, and yet we’re all from the Magic City. We come together to help each other regardless of nationality, language, age, etc. We’re there for each other in tough times and we rebuild. And what’s even more impressive is that this all happens with the magic of a cafecito or a pastelito. We wouldn’t change home for any other place in the world and we’re just lucky to share it with foodies like you! We leave you with a few fun foodie links from around the web to help you plan for a much better weekend than the last. Enjoy!

If you watched Bravo’s Best New Restaurant a few years back, you might be surprised to hear that R House (2727 NW 2nd Ave, Miami) is still open after its relatively disastrous appearance. However, instead of folding under the pressure of the poor reality show showing, the restaurant took the time to take stock, learn from its mistakes, and focus on getting better. And get better they did. With a new menu that is more focused and concise in its food and drink offering, R House has become a very, very, very fine house… (with drag queens in the yard*).

Do you guys remember that time I told you all about DÔA (2000 Collins Ave, Miami Beach) and their modern and refreshing twist on Asian/Peruvian cuisine? I’m still pretty smitten with this place and recently checked out their Miami Spice menu, which far exceeded my expectations. Throughout the two months of Miami Spice, the menu at DÔA has been on a rotating schedule. While I was treated to the Japanese-inspired menu, currently they have the Chinese menu, and, ultimately, they will close out Miami Spice with their traditional menu.
Welcome to September, foodies! As we inch closer and closer to the gluttony of the holiday season, here in Miami we’re still celebrating our favorite local foodie holiday — Miami Spice. There are still plenty of menus to discover in Month 2, but, if prix fixe isn’t quite your speed, there are a host of other happenings taking place around town this month. From openings, expansions, and moves to menu additions and foodie events, there’s something out there to please everyone’s palate. Check out our round-up of the latest local foodie news below. Enjoy!

Since opening its doors in 2008, Meat Market (915 Lincoln Rd, Miami Beach) has managed to establish itself as one of the few quality dining options on the deteriorating Lincoln Road food scene. With rave reviews and numerous awards, the flagship location (there are now two more Meat Markets in Palm Beach and Puerto Rico) has quietly made a name for itself with a winning formula of taking the staples of a classic steakhouse and putting an artful, contemporary spin on them, attracting a stylish fan base looking for more than just red meat.

Lure Fishbar (1601 Collins Ave, Miami Beach), located inside the Loews Hotel, is a classic South Beach seafood restaurant that has made a name for itself by serving approachable, quality food. While the dishes are normally not too inventive, the ingredients are procured from incredible sources, making for overall delectable dishes. I can say from personal experience that there are few restaurants in the area quite as consistent as this one, and it is one that I enjoy making a visit to on a consistent basis.
