Angelo Elia Sparks Pizza Potential

By Caitlin Marino

Hey, foodie fam! As alluded to in my Forte dei Marmi review a couple of weeks ago, I’ve had an  overhaul in my dietary lifestyle… After mistakenly watching a Netflix documentary about food, I did the unthinkable and became vegan. This coming from someone who had never been on a diet to going cold turkey and cutting out all animal products from one day to the next. However, life is all about balance, so cheat meals are just plain necessary and what better way to reward yourself for months of successfully sticking to a restrictive diet than with authentic, homemade pizza? Why pizza, you ask? Well, I believe in a past life I must have been Italian because the love I have for pizza, pasta, and wine is just not normal. The answer for any of the aforementioned items will ALWAYS be yes – vegan diet or not. Needless to say, I was over the moon when I found out that one of the new restaurants at CityPlace Doral was Angelo Elia Pizza (3535 NW 83rd Ave, Suite 133, Doral.) Even from just the entrance where an enormous wine vault affectionately greets you, I could tell this place had the potential to become a routine go-to option.

Lusting Over Lutum

By Melanie Galarce

Lutum (1766 Bay Rd, Miami Beach) is a casual American eatery serving South Florida inspired fare in Sunset Harbour. It’s comfort food at it’s best, located where the popular Burger & Beer Joint once stood. Lutum, which means “dirt and soil” in Latin, is the antithesis to the type of restaurant we’ve been seeing pop up in the Sunset Harbor neighborhood; it’s cool, chill, and affordable.

Mariachis, Margaritas & Upscale Mexican Cuisine at Cantina La Veinte

By Santiago Cardona

I’m all for the thought that Mexican food should be affordable and not fussed up. Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m in no way saying that it’s a cuisine that is not deserving of utmost care and sophistication. It’s honestly one of my favorite cuisines in the world, but it is hard to justify paying quite a penny for what is normally more affordable. Cantina La Veinte (495 Brickell Ave, Miami) has the idea of upscale Mexican down pact, providing diners with an elegant ambiance while maintaining the integrity of the food. Walking in, you get a feeling of grandiosity while perusing the decor. This place is downright gorgeous. When you add the mariachis, margaritas, and beautiful Brickell waterfront views, you’re in for a treat.

An Italian Brunch Feast at Forte dei Marmi

By Caitlin Marino

As if I haven’t expressed it enough, I have the biggest obsession with Italian cuisine, so when MMTM got the invite to visit Forte dei Marmi, you can only imagine how thrilled I was to check it out! Throughout my journey of veganism, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to never compromise on high-quality, organic, and fresh products (regardless of whether the meal is vegan or not.) Forte dei Marmi (150 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach) specializes in just that – incomparable fresh ingredients – which, in part, has earned acclaimed chef Antonio Mellino two Michelin stars. Upon arrival, you’re greeted by the jaw-dropping décor designed to recreate the vibes of an elegant resort in a seaside Italian city. Impressed would be an understatement and we had only just step foot in.

Bocas House Coral Gables: It’s More Than Just Milkshakes

By Santiago Cardona

Yeah, yeah. We get it. The milkshakes at Bocas House are decadent, delicious, and Instagram worthy. While this is all true, please don’t let the shakes be the only reason you go there. Like most of you, I only thought of Bocas House as “that place with the milkshakes.” But truth be told, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food on a recent dinner at their new Coral Gables location (2 Aragon Ave, Coral Gables).
